TPE / TPV compounding
The VMI-AZ PLANETRUDER® is used as side feed extruders in continuous mixing applications for both thermoplastic elastomers (TPE / TPV), as well as rubber mixing. In such applications, the Planetruder® is connected to the compounding extruder feeding an extremely high precision continuous strip. In most continuous mixing applications a co-rotating twin screw is utilized (a practice well known in the plastic industry).The Planetruder®, as a side feeder for compounding extruders, offers the following advantages:
- Due to the working principle of planetary gear pump the feeding precision of the Planetruder® is better than ± 0.4%.
- Inside the Planetruder® the rubber is always pre-heated and enters the compounding extruder at a given temperature, which simplifies the compounding process compared to cold pellet feeding.
- The compact design of our single drive Planetruder® can be simply attached to the compounding extruder without taking up excessive space.
- The planetary gear pump system is 100% leakage free.
- The Planetruder can handle strips. Rubber pelletizing is no longer required.
